Hypothesis:
Many people are giving up on hunting due to a change that has occurred over the years. Many hunters are disregarding laws that prohibit dog running in certain counties, amount of game taken and so on. Several people today refuse to hunt because of the dangers that are around and several people have become injured due to lack of respect. My hypothesis is that less people continue hunting due to this change.
Context:
My general audience is typically hunters and those who play are part in hunting, such as land and hunt club owners/presidents. I chose this audience because they are at the heart of hunting and they see what goes on day by day, and is able to tell when there is a change. I feel that my results are reliable and valid because they are focused around those who spend days or weeks on end with land in preparation for hunting seasons abroad. Results:
Data Analysis:
Of my surveys, I found that there is an equal amount of those who feel that hunting has changed, to those who feel that it has not. However, my strongest finding is that people find that hunting has become more dangerous over the years, due to the fact that younger adolescents are hunting. My second strongest finding is that males have a tendency to change or bend the laws of hunting for their needs. They feel that they should not have to follow every law set for hunting because it limits them to their amount of game. My third strongest finding concludes that people do not really feel or notice a change in way we hunt as far as for survival or competition.
Conclusion:
I do not agree with my hypothesis because I have come to find that hunting as a whole has not changed, rather than the danger level. I can see through my results that people do not feel the need to hunt less or give up hunting because of a change. But instead, there has been an increase in hunters and also a slight increase in danger. As I looked through my data, I saw a myriad of response that it is becoming more and more dangerous. I have learned that my research questions were focused more so on why there is a change and for my second memo
Follow Up:
In my second research memo, I would like to answer some questions as to why people feel that hunting has become more dangerous. I plan on changing them to subjects such as why hunting has become more dangerous and why younger adolescents are being allowed to hunt. I saw that as people took my survey that they have continuously mark hunting has become dangerous.
